Rest and Restore

When the Fool leaves the chaos of the Tower he finds the woman in the Star card.  She is focused on her task rather than us.  She works naked, showing her vulnerability and honesty, and kneels next to a pool of water with one foot on land and the other in the water.  She is learning balance between the spiritual and physical worlds and works to pour divine energy into both.  The world around her is lush and green and she is guided by the stars above who will lead her to her path.  This is a moment for the Fool to rest and learn.

Meanings

  • You are entering a quiet place of healing and hope where you can let down and be open to receive guidance and illumination.

  • The Star is a point of rest and rejuvenation.  This is a moment to pause and feed into yourself both physically and spiritually so you can return to balance following the chaos of the Tower.

  • You are in a time of profound growth and wisdom if you are willing to do the work to feed both your physical and spiritual existence. 

  • When reversed or in a negative position the Star card can be a warning to you that you’ve lost sight of your divine path.   You may feel overwhelmed and confused, but if you pause and look within you will find the path again.

  • Stars – bring divine guidance and direction to her path.  Some believe the seven smaller stars to represent the chakras.

  • Naked Woman – the woman is free and open, working at her task with honesty and vulnerability. 

  • Pitchers of water – she brings divine energy and nourishment by pouring into both the water (spiritual life) and land (physical life).  She does this both consciously (watching it pour) and unconsciously (turned away) to bring balance back to her life.

  • Feet – with one foot in the water and the other on land, the woman shows balance between her intuition and spiritual life (water) and her physical reality and abilities (land).  It is through feeding both that she finds her true path.

  • Tree and Bird – the setting is fertile and growing, showing evidence of her watering.  The bird that has come to enjoy the garden is likely an Ibis representing Thoth, the Egyptian god of wisdom.
